Bed Bug Hiding

Bed Bug Hiding places are not really hard to detect.  Literally, Bed Bug Hiding places are right under your nose or bed sheets.  Bed bugs aka mahogany flats are so flat they can slip into almost any crack or crevice that is about as thick as your fingernail.  They generally remain there until it is very quiet and they sense the carbon dioxide from your breathing.  Carbon dioxide activates them and they come looking for you, following your heat and scent signature.   This is why they are generally less than 10 feet from where you sleep and Bed Bug Hiding places are  easy to find.

Picture frames are classic Bed Bug Hiding locations as are heating and air ducts covers. Also be sure to check under clocks, phones, televisions and smoke detectors for evidence of Bed Bug Hiding.  Bed bugs will even hide in electric receptacles, lamp bases and cracks in molding and baseboards.  The bottom line is that you need to treat any location if you as much as suspect bed bug activity.

You need to make certain that you kill bed bugs mattress. The mattress seams serve as the perfect bed bug hiding place or nesting area. Many people think that once their mattress is infested with bed bugs that they need to throw away their mattress. This really isn’t true, you can steam clean and sanitize your mattress, dust it with DE, and bag it in a bedbug cover.  This will protect your expensive mattress investment. The feces from bed bugs covers most of the seam areas of your mattress; therefore inspect this area carefully and destroy the bed bug hiding place in your mattress.
