Most people are lucky to never have seen a bed bug. Most people do not even think they are real. People tell us all the time to sleep tight without letting the bed bugs bite. They make bed bugs seem very common. It is because of that saying we think we have these invisible bugs. Well, guess what? Bed Bugs are real and Bed Bug Pictures are not pretty. In fact, bed bug pictures are very nasty. They are just terrible to look at.

Everybody wonders if they have bed bugs. We tend to wash our sheets a lot just to make sure we don’t. Exactly how big are these bugs? What do they look like? It turns out that bed bugs are not microscopic after all. They are in fact, big enough to see. A closer examination reveals a most ugly insect.

What are bed bugs?

Bed bugs are small little things that feed off the blood of humans! They either crawl into your bed or they can drop down on you at night while you are sleeping! They like living inside of mattresses. These bloodsucking parasites feed off of sleeping people by piercing the skin of the victim. The bed bugs actually stick a feeding tube inside the skin which allows them to draw blood for five minutes at a time. The person does not know they are being bitten. Yuck!

Their favorite time to attack in one hour before sunrise. If their sleeping victim wakes up during this time, they run and hide. They can live an entire year without feeding. They typically feed about once per week, so a person with a lot of bites really has a bad infestation. Sometimes, it can take up to 9 days before the victim notices the bites. Bed bug bites usually appear in rows or clusters. After drawing blood, the parasite will relocate to a better spot. This also happens when the host inconveniences it by moving. These itchy bites can appear anywhere on the body.

What are bed bugs?

Bed Bugs are small pest – the adult is less than a quarter of an inch in size – that live on the blood of animals and, most disconcertingly humans.

Although not able to fly the bed bugs does retain the ability to spread very fast and is prone to rapid spreading as a result.

The Bed Bugs concern is a common one, as these miniature insects are understood to have come from their place of origin in the Asian continent to the rest of the globe.

It is hardly unusual to have an infestation of Bed Bugs, but what is essential is that we understand where they live, how to spot them and what to do about them.

Bed bugs eggs

The female Bed Bugs will produce eggs every day; as she can exist for considerable lengths of time – over a year – this results in a quick explosion of the Bed Bug population.

The bed bugs are alive at night – when we are asleep – and the primary clue to the infestation of Bed Bugs is the presence of pimples on the skin in the morning.

The bed bugs will feast during the night, and when it feeds on human blood it leaves behind marks of its existence.

A bed bugs feeds by piercing the skin and feeding in a tube with which it sucks out the required blood, and hence the victim will rarely know they are being bitten as they are usually asleep.

After feeding – which may cover as long as ten minutes – the Bed Bug leaves behind a red mark which might swell and will hurt continually, bringing irritation and discomfort to the sufferer.

Indicators of Bed bugs

The problem with diagnosis is that the indications of Bed Bugs are very similar to many other skin conditions.

Scabies displays very similar signs to bed bugs infestation, and other insect bites such as mosquito can also result in a similar tell tale red welt.
