Our bed bug treatment plan is a one time use treatment. As long as the DE-Stroy Pest Control Eco Dust stays applied, the bedbug treatment will still be effective. We do recommed that you do complete a second treatment for any eggs that may have been missed during the first treatment and have since then hatched.
If you are still treating and you would like to vacuum up the bed bug powder you would need to reapply because if it is not present there is nothing left there to kill them in your home. Diatomaceous Earth (bed bugs powder) is effective as long as it remains present and dry. For Bed Bugs, walking through Diatomaceous Earth is just like you or I crawling through shards of broken glass. The fine fragments in Diatomaceous Earth immediately pierces the bed bugs exoskeleton and it immediately begins to die. The bed bug will not die immediately upon contact with the Diatomaceous Earth. If you see bed bugs walk through the dust and walk away, rest assured, he is crawling away and will die.
Traditional pest control methods treat Bed Bugs the same way they treat roaches – spray along the baseboards. This doesn’t work because a Bed Bug’s evolved genetic behavior is completely different from that of a roach! Many customers have told us they’ve actually been turned down by pest control companies because they don’t have an effective solution for Bed Bugs!
Diatomaceous Earth fills in the cracks that pesticides leave behind — literally. This bed bug dust can be applied to cracks, crevices, bed legs, headboards, electrical outlets and any other place that bed bugs hide when out of sight. Other common places for bed bugs to hide include behind picture frames on walls, in the seams of mattresses and even in between the baseboards and walls. A general rule of thumb is to keep in mind that anywhere you could slide a credit card, a bed bug can fit as well. They can flatten themselves down to fit in the smallest of spaces.
Find the right bed bug killer for you.
