Bleach will kill bed bugs if applied directly to the bed bug. However, this is difficult most times because the bed bugs are hiding and do not roam around during the day or when light is present. They come out during the dark periods of time when you are sleeping to feed.

Another draw back to bleach is the obvious — it’s bleach. It cannot be used on finished wood, bedding or furniture without causing damage. The fumes from bleach can also be harmful to your health if used in excess.

Our Contact Killing Spray in conjunction with our Diatomaceous Earth create over a 98% kill rate when used together. DeadBedBugs Contact Killing spray allows you the convenience of treating your home and going to sleep with the peace of mind you need and deserve. Our Contact Killing Spray is effective and non-toxic so that you can treat your home and bedding and then lay down and go to sleep without worrying about bed bugs or your family’s health.

Bleach is meant to be used as a cleaning and disinfectant product, not as a pesticide. And the toxic fumes bleach emmits when used in excess can cause damage to you and your family’s health. It can also be harmful to any pets by them walking on the floor and then licking their paws. It can cause irritation to the skin on your pet’s paws and when licked can cause serious internal health problems.

Yes. Bed bugs can travel on you, but usually do so via things you are wearing or carrying. Bed Bugs can attach themselves to your shoes, clothing, briefcase and luggage if you are travelling. In fact, a large percentage of people actually have a bed bug infestation because these little guys crawled into their luggage or shoes while travelling. Many people bring bed bugs home with them from a hotel, motel or even airplane ride without even knowing it.

Bed bugs are commonly referred to as “The Travelling Bug.” It is believed that this is how bed bugs came to America — through travellers. You may be safe on the airplane, riding comfortably, while your lugguge is down below busy picking up some extra travellers. If someone else on the plane stayed at a location with a bed bug infestation and picked up a few bed bugs, they are very easily shared with other luggage in the luggage pit. One person carrying bed bugs in their luggage can easily turn into several people carrying bed bugs after the flight is over. It’s easy to see how bed bugs have spread so rapidly and vastly in just a few years.

However, bed bugs normally will not travel on your skin. They can actually feed off of you without having to walk on your skin at all. You can think of bed bugs as shy because right after feeding they will quickly run off of the skin and back into hiding. They actually prefer to touch your skin while feeding. This is how most people do not even realize they have bed bugs.

Bed bugs will usually hide in mattresses, box spring, bed frames and headboards. They can also hide in upholstered furniture, dressers, cracks in molding, curtains, window and door frames, clothing and also inside electronics.

Bed bugs like the electronic frequencies and the warmth that your appliances radiate. It is not uncommon for bed bugs to hide in bed side clocks and radios, in electrical outlets and near lamps and phone chargers left plugged in.

Finding where bed bugs are hiding is often difficult because they can hide nearly anywhere. We have heards reports from customers who said they found bed bugs hiding behind hanging wall frames.

A basic rule of thumb to follow when finding bed bug nests is that anywhere you can slide a credit card — a bed bug could fit. They can flatten themselves down to fit in nearly any crack or crevice available. This sometimes makes it difficult to actually see them. Our Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is designed for just this purpose. Anywhere you have cracks and crevices where bed bugs may be present the DE dust should be applied.

For bed bugs, crawling through the Diatomaceous Earth is like a person crawling through shards of broken glass. The DE pierces the bed bugs exoskeleton and begins killing the bug immediately. The bug may crawl away, but they will not get far. Once they have crawled through the DE, death is imminent.

Another sign of a bed bug infestation is the presence of dark brown or red specs in the folds in your mattress. Bed bugs will usually leave a dark red or brown residue after feeding. These is feces from the bugs and other secretions. This is a sure sign that you are dealing with a bed bug infestation. The amount of residue you find can tell you a lot about the length of time you have had bed bugs and the level of severity of the infestation.

Bed bugs will bite people anywhere there is exposed skin. They prefer not to actually touch or crawl on your skin. If possible, bed bugs will not crawl on you, but rather simply inject just their mouth parts into your skin, drink your blood and leave.

Common places for bed bugs to bite you include but are not limited to your arms, legs, ankels, back, neck and face. They will bite you anywhere they can. Bed bug bites resemble that of a mosquito. Both insects have an anticoagulant in their saliva that thin the blood and allow them to drink more blood in a shorter span of time.

Bed bug bites will appear as small red, raised and itchy spots similar to a mosquito bite. Bed bugs usually bite only at night when they can bite you without being seen. The bite of a bed bug is not that painful and most people do not even know they were bitten. This makes it difficult to know when you are being bitten.

Bed bug bites can often be mistaken for a skin rash, especially if the bites are close together.

Our Bed Bug Bite Pack helps treat skin irritated by bed bug bites. Our ProEcza cream in the bite pack relieves the itch and soothe the skin irritated by bed bug bites. The AllStop Healing Gel in the pack keep skin clean and disinfected so that a secondary bacterial infection does not take place. The power of the two combined provides you with the relief you need from bed bug bites and the irritation they cause.
