Bed bugs usually move throughout your dwelling by crawling.

Bedbugs can crawl at a high speed compared to other insects or bugs. They will crawl out of their hiding places while you are sleeping to feed, but they do not fly.

Bed bugs can only crawl while they scurrying into dark, very tight spaces where they prefer to hide. They move as fast as an ant. Bed Bugs can’t jump or fly either and they will not burrow into your skin either. If there is an insect you have seen or you suspect you saw something when the lights were out near the bed or a couch, it was probably a bed bug looking for a meal.

Bed bugs keep to themselves and they aren’t social insects like ants, therefore they don’t need a nearby friends. But while bed bugs group together in good dark hiding spots, some loners can be hiding elsewhere.

The Bedbug is also called Cimex lectucularius. It cannot fly because it has only vestigial wings; neither can the bed bug jump. It hides itself among cracks and crevices and comes out at night to feed. It primarily lives on humans, but is known to infest certain zoo animals too.

The DeadBedBugs bed bug treatment plan follows the EPA Pest Management protocol which includes spraying pesticides, using non-chemical methods, steam, diatomaceous earth and climbup interceptors. There is more to killing bed bugs than just spraying; the correct Pest Management system includes a lot of common sense practices.

We do recommed that you do complete a second treatment for any eggs that may have been missed during the first treatment and have since then hatched if only using the non-chemical products.

If you are still treating for bed bugs and you would like to vacuum up the bed bug powder, you would need to reapply the diatomaceous earth because if the diatomaceous earth is not present, there is nothing left there to kill the bed bugs in your home. Diatomaceous Earth (bed bugs powder) is effective as long as it remains present and dry.

For Bed Bugs, walking through Diatomaceous Earth is just like you or I crawling through shards of broken glass. The fine fragments in Diatomaceous Earth immediately pierces the bed bugs exoskeleton and it immediately begins to die. The bed bug will not die immediately upon contact with the Diatomaceous Earth. If you see bed bugs walk through the dust and walk away, rest assured, he is crawling away and will die.

Steaming is used only once, if you are using the other bed bug products. Steaming is used to kill the bed bugs and also used to s

Traditional pest control methods that exterminators use, treat Bed Bugs the same way they treat roaches – spray along the baseboards. This doesn’t work because a Bed Bug’s evolved genetic behavior is completely different from that of a roach! Many customers have told us they’ve actually been turned down by pest control companies because they don’t have an effective solution for Bed Bugs!

The Climbup interceptors will immediately detect if there is bed bugs and they will also kill the bed bugs left in the reservoir! Bed bugs will never have the opportunity to get to you!

Find the right bed bug killer for you.

Adult femail bedbugs leave eggs most commonly on the mattress, inside a box spring, behind peeling wallpaper, behind walls and baseboards, near the edges of rugs, and in the closets.

Bed bugs will lay their eggs anywhere they can. Anywhere bed bugs are dwelling and hiding they will also lay their eggs. They do not have a specific place they prefer to lay eggs. Bed bug eggs are hard to see and identify because they are about the size of the tip of a pen point and are clear to milkly in color.

They are extremely hard to see with the naked eye. However, if you use a flashlight and inspect your mattress closely, you may be able to see small mikly specs in the folds of your mattress. These are most likely bed bug eggs.

Our AllStop Dead Bed Bug Contact Killing Spray not only kills adult and adolescent bed bugs on contact it also kills their eggs. This is one reason our Bed Bug Contact Killing Spray is the ultimate solution to a bed bug infestation. Traditional pesticides suchs as foggers and bombings do not kill the bed bug eggs. This leaves the infestation to start its cycle all over again once the eggs hatch.

Once bed bugs hatch from their eggs they are not much bigger in size than the egg itself. They remain about the size of the tip of a pen point and remain the mikly white to clear color till after their first blood meal. If you actually see bed bugs crawling around your home this is a sign of a severe infestation, as bed bugs are not usually seen in homes because of their nocturnal and skitish nature.

It is just as important to kill the eggs as it is to kill the already hatched live bed bugs. Our non-toxic safe formulas are effective in killing eggs and live bed bugs alike.

To insects it acts as shards of glass that would cut their exoskeleton causing them to dehydrate and die.

It is 25B exempt under federal EPA standards and does not require registration. It is a natural product used in eliminating bed bugs.

Our All Stop DE-Stroy Eco Dust is a food grade diatomaceous earth powder. It is made of crushed fossils of fresh water organisms and marine life.

It is made to cut the exoskeleton of bed bugs like shards of glass causing the bed bugs to dehydrate and die and is also commonly used as a natural pesticide for animals.

Our food grade diatomaceous earth will not kill the bed bug on contact, but the bug will die within the next couple of hours after making contact with the dust. It is a great tool against bed bugs because as long as it is present, it is working. If you sweep or vaccuum the dust up, just apply some more once done to keep the effective bed bug killing dust present and working.

Diatomaceous Earth is one of the most powerful tools when combatting bed bugs because you don’t have to hunt them down or seek them out. You can apply this dust where ever necassary — the bed, bedframe, mattress, head boards, base boards, cracks, crevices and even electrical outlets where they may be hiding in the walls.

Electrical outlets are actually a common place for bed bugs to hide. They like the warmth and frequencies that the wires inside the walls give off. Sprinkle a little dust in and around the outlet to give you extra bed bug killing power where you normally could not get it.

You can use one method we recommend, or you can use all of them for the ultimate bed bug erradication.

Our AllStop Dead Bed Bug Contact Killing Spray it great when you can see the bed bugs. It is an on contact bed bug killer. If you can see bed bugs in the folds of fabric or in the cracks where groves or legs meet, spray the contact killing spray directly on them and they will die within seconds.

For infestation where you know they are present, but cannot see them there are a coulpe of ways to eliminate bed bugs just as effectively. Diatomaceous Earth is a great way to have long lasting effective bed bug killing power. Sprinkle this dust in the folds of the fabric, in the cracks and crevices of the furniture and anywhere else you can put it. Once a bed bug crawls through this dust they are sure to die. The dust pierces through the bug’s exoskeleton and begins the process. For the bed bug, this is sure death.

We also offer bed bug interceptors. These can be placed under the legs of any furniture to catch the bed bugs as they come out at night and try to feed on you. They will be caught in the interceptor and cannot get out. You can sprayer them with the contact killing spray in the morning or you can even relieve some of that built up tension they’ve caused you and smash them one by one if you like. We recommend the latter of the two, just for the fun of it!

<div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style " addthis:url='http://deadbedbugs.com/faq/bed-bugs/where-are-the-bed-bugs-hiding/' addthis:title='Where are the bed bugs hiding? Other common hiding spots for bed bug infestations include, but are not limited to, upholstered chairs and sofa, nightstands, dressers.

Other common hiding places are along and under the edges of wall to wall carpeting, cracks in molding, curtains, windows, door frames, wicker furniture, under loose wallpaper, clothing, inside walls, electrical outlets, and inside electronics.

Bed bugs will usually hide in mattresses, box spring, bed frames and headboards. They can also hide in upholstered furniture, dressers, cracks in molding, curtains, window and door frames, clothing and also inside electronics.

Bed bugs like the electronic frequencies and the warmth that your appliances radiate. It is not uncommon for bed bugs to hide in bed side clocks and radios, in electrical outlets and near lamps and phone chargers left plugged in.

Finding where bed bugs are hiding is often difficult because they can hide nearly anywhere. We have heards reports from customers who said they found bed bugs hiding behind hanging wall frames.

A basic rule of thumb to follow when finding bed bug nests is that anywhere you can slide a credit card — a bed bug could fit. They can flatten themselves down to fit in nearly any crack or crevice available. This sometimes makes it difficult to actually see them. Our Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is designed for just this purpose. Anywhere you have cracks and crevices where bed bugs may be present the DE dust should be applied.

For bed bugs, crawling through the Diatomaceous Earth is like a person crawling through shards of broken glass. The DE pierces the bed bugs exoskeleton and begins killing the bug immediately. The bug may crawl away, but they will not get far. Once they have crawled through the DE, death is imminent.

Another sign of a bed bug infestation is the presence of dark brown or red specs in the folds in your mattress. Bed bugs will usually leave a dark red or brown residue after feeding. These is feces from the bugs and other secretions. This is a sure sign that you are dealing with a bed bug infestation. The amount of residue you find can tell you a lot about the length of time you have had bed bugs and the level of severity of the infestation.
